Portugal

Atlantic light, tiled streets and a slow coastal route from Lisbon toward the Algarve.

Field guide

Plan the route, leave room for weather

Best seasonApril – October
Suggested pace6–9 days
Start fromLisbon
Travel styleCoast + city

Portugal is ideal for a trip built around long lunches, compact cities and coastal drives. Lisbon is the natural starting point, but the quieter moments often happen outside it.

Follow the Atlantic

After Lisbon, move west before heading south. Small beaches and cliff walks give the trip breathing room between city days.

Leave one afternoon empty. Portugal knows what to do with it.

Eat locally

Markets, bakeries and simple seafood restaurants are often more memorable than highly planned reservations.
